Owner Geri Horning's statement:

After more than a decade of work in social services, serving clients in single adult and family shelters for secular and faith-based organizations, I have seen the life-changing effects that stabilizing resources make, whether it's income, housing or medical treatment.

Applying for Social Security Disability benefits is the right of every American citizen.
However, the process can be daunting for someone new to the application process. What does the Social Security Administration consider a disability? Why was my application denied? How do I appeal the government's decision?

I chose to become a non-attorney representative to help people through this time in their lives - speaking for them and providing information and assistance to demystify the application and appeals processes and taking away some of the confusion surrounding what makes disability claims successful.

Depending on each person's situation and needs, I am also ready to provide information and referrals to other agencies in Portland that can provide stabilizing services such as food, shelter, subsidized housing and case management counseling.

I have seen the difference than obtaining SSD/I benefits can make in a person's life and look forward to working with people to simplify this process and to obtain any benefits to which they are entitled.
